About LUC GmbH

Established in 1981 in Meckenheim, near Bonn in Western Germany, LUC was created as a laboratory and production site dedicated to meeting the stringent requirements of environmental and analytical applications. From the outset, the company was built around controlled distillation, precise process management, and reproducible quality. In 2024, LUC added its second production unit at Wesel near Dusseldorf. LUC currently operates the only two independent solvent distillation facilities in Germany.

For more than four decades, LUC has remained firmly rooted in German manufacturing principles, combining technical discipline with a deep understanding of solvent purity requirements. The company's production philosophy is based on consistency, traceability, and long-term reliability rather than volume-driven output.

Over the years, LUC has developed strong expertise in the production of high-purity solvents, customised formulations, and specialised processing solutions. Its capabilities extend from distillation and formulation to recycling, purification, and controlled filling, all carried out under strict operational oversight.

Products manufactured by LUC have been used for demanding analytical and environmental applications and, since the 1980s, have been distributed under well-established brands such as Promochem®, contributing to their reputation for quality and reliability.

Since 2019, LUC has been a part of bioKEMIX WORLDWIDE, an international chemical manufacturing and distribution group with multiple operational locations and production capabilities worldwide.

Today, LUC operates as the German manufacturing core for high-purity solvents within bioKEMIX Worldwide, retaining its technical independence while benefiting from the stability and long-term orientation of a global chemical platform. Despite this broader group context, LUC continues to function as what it has always been: a focused German producer committed to environmental chemistry, precision manufacturing, and dependable quality.
